Nihon no nikki - Japanese Diary

I am just letting myself float through Japan to see which mental images come close to reality. It will be a photographic record of my experiences and emotional state while travelling through Japan.

Japan is very different from the stereotypical view of Zen, Tea and Sushi. The streets are not flooded with monks. There aren't sushi vendors and tea houses in every corner instead there are lot's of convenient stores, curry places and Mc Donalds.

The often used comparison between Modernity and Tradition is too easy. It's a very diverse country with significant regional differences. Especially between the countryside and the megapolis Tokyo. Like every other captial, Tokyo is not very representative for a whole country.

I am just beginning to discover the fine nuances of everyday life in Japan. Here is a little teaser for you.
